MAZZARRI HERE FOR YEARS

Napoli manager Walter Mazzarri has said that he will not be leaving the club in the middle of the season. Walter Mazzarri’s future has been the topic of speculation in recent weeks, as his current contract runs out at the end of the season.

There have also been no talks regarding a new deal for the manager, who has been largely responsible for bringing out the best in Marek Hamsik and Edinson Cavani. He has also been influential in getting Napoli through the Champions League group stages and into the knockout stages where they will be facing Chelsea.

Walter Mazzarri has been at Napoli since 2009 and he has made a major impact on the club during this tenure. As a result of it, there has been talk surrounding his future and that he is interested in moving to a bigger club where there will be much better transfer budget. Despite the achievements of Napoli in recent seasons, they still have to work on a shoestring budget, which seems to have tied his arms a lot. There have been suggestions that he will be looking to move to the Spanish league at some point in his career, but Walter Mazzarri has not committed to any of these rumours so far.

“I have a contract until June 2013 and I intend to respect it. For the past two years, we have been among the best in the league. We need time to grow, something this club has been doing in recent years. The right ingredients are here to win the Scudetto, but within a reasonable time,” Mazzarri said in Corriere dello Sport. Napoli are currently in the sixth position in the Italian Serie A and they will be looking to qualify for the Champions League next season as well.
